A new and environmentally friendly coating is now used for the brackets that come with LarsLap’s clamping system for portable valve grinders.
As the color of the brackets was recently changed to a deeper blue tone, a decision was made to also change the surface coating to a different formulation.
Rilsan is a thermoplastic coating that is extremely hard wearing and scratch resistant while withstanding high temperature and corrosion.
It is also 100% recyclable, non-toxic, plant based and manufactured in a low energy process.
Unlike other plastic materials, Rilsan is not petroleum based. Instead, the material comes from castor oil. The cultivated castor oil plant does not interfere with the food chain, is not a GMO, uses very few pesticides, grows in poor soil in semi-arid areas and requires very little water.
Rilsan does not release any volatile organic compounds and is free from heavy metal pigments, bisphenol A, phthalates, halogens, isocyanates and curing agents.
Good for the planet and good for the working environment too, whilst doing the job of protecting your equipment.
